The Continuous Unveiling of Animal Cruelty


My friends and colleagues we keep in touch with the latest happenings in the food industry. Although we are busy, we try to keep up with the latest news and be properly informed so we are able to disburse the information along with our personal thoughts and experiences to those of interest. All this in the hopes to regain some sort of control over what we put on our plates to nurture our bodies and find an expeditious resolution to pressing matters that concern and are directly tied to our health, wellness and well-being. Although the web and many books are filled with information that has been proven that the consumption of animal protein are linked with cancer, heart disease, strokes, diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, kidney stones, and many other devastating diseases, majority part of society still continues on the many path to its own demise away from prevention.
Recently, an article was sent to me in reference to the abuse at a WALMART pork supplier known as Pipestone System's Rosewood Farms in Pipestone, Minn. Out of many articles which all caught my undivided attention this one came to the forefront, call me a mush I was in tears and pause. I am appalled and practically speechless especially after viewing one of the many the videos of animal cruelty and the practices of some of these farms. Brought up many memories of my two week experience in my butcher class while attending Culinary School; where one of our many trips included visiting a slaughter house.
Here out of many gruesome and graphically intense scenes, I share one video, which was shared with me. This video is from the Organization Mercy for Animals (MercyforAnimals.org) posted and reported by the Huffington post. 





For an individual who has total respect for life this can be a very devastating viewing as it was for me. The feelings of impotence can take over while one continues to read and come upon slew of information and accompanying photo-graphical or movie footage of these in-compassionate horrifying acts regarding the blatant and gruesome disregard for animal rights.
So many are clueless to these acts of cruelty as some are so far away and removed and only associate themselves to the byproduct of the slaughtered animal that has been cleaned, trimmed and pre-packaged for human consumption. These animals have the right to live, they're defenseless from new born to adulthood, live in unhealthy, unsanitary, unsafe and extremely confined spaces where they have not the ability to move or rest. Pigs are very intelligent animals so they become frustrated and some beat themselves against the bars of the cages they are confined in and due to this may suffer injuries such as open wounds and develop pressure sores. On top of all this they are tortured and abused and killed in cold blood with no anesthetics; merciless. Thanks to Mercy for Animals for their diligent undercover work to bring to full light these behind the scene on goings of inhumane and ill treatment towards animals.
Studies have shown that flesh food leads to a violent and aggressive behavior, I would say agree, as if they are killed violently than all this violence and anger is embedded into the flesh and passed along.
Furthermore, our environment is affected, the improper use of animals as food as they are being raised to be killed is leads to so much waste and total desolation/destruction of our most valuable resources. For example, the long lasting effects is that due to the improper overtaking of the farmlands to be used as animal fattening factory/slaughter land 4 million acres of cropland are lost to erosion.
The consequences of these animals being raised in these conditions are dangerous to our health they are loaded with contaminants such as hormones, herbicides, pesticides and antibiotics; viruses, bacteria and as well as parasites such as salmonella, trichinosis and more; and toxoplasmosis parasites. These toxins are fat-soluble and are concentrated in the fatty flesh of the animals.
I can write forever on this topic, however for now this will do as I can always right more later on. So, I ask you as your opinion, thoughts are of concern as well, what is your opinion on this matter? I would like to know as it is important not just to me but for all of us collectively. ~VEGANISM REDUCES CANCER RISKS~
When we hear the big “C” word it sends a quivering up and down our spine. Such a cold and frail physical and emotional condition.
However, we can change and improve the odds of 'US” ever getting 'Cancer' and if unfortunately diagnosed with the big “C” we can successfully increase our chances and recover from it. However, we can recover and improve our health not through medicine (drug) or surgery and I am not banning or condemning western medicine which can prove to be somewhat effective.
The method that I speak of is what you put on your plate or in our cup. The food choices we make play an extremely important role in our health-wellness and a road to recovery as the wise food choices we make are seriously powerful when we chose to eat to live long and healthy life.
Healing foods, Veganism has proven to decrease significantly the cancer. Why? Because Vegetarians and Vegans eat better and make wiser choices than meat-eaters. There is a low Cancer amongst the Vegan Community.
A study done at LOMA LINDA UNIVERSITY funded by the National Cancer Institute amongst Vegan women had 34 percent lower rate of female-specific cancers such as Breast, Cervical and Ovarian Cancer. The study showed that in comparison to a group of healthy omnivores who ate substantially less meat that the general population, as well as controlling for non-dietary factors such as smoking, alcohol and family of cancer.
There were experiments done, where people were placed on different diets and their blood was dipped on human cancer cells to grow in a petri dish just to see and witness which diet really did stand up tall and erect against Cancer and obliterate it. Women on plant based diet for 2 weeks were found that there organism suppressed the growth of three different type of breast cancer and their blood gained strength and power in just 2 weeks of eating a plant based diet to significantly slow down and cease the growth of different types of breast cancer cells. Studies have been done on men as well, they were placed also on a plant based diet for a period of 2 weeks and the results were their blood gained strength against prostate cancer as well as prostate enlargement.
The proof lies in making smart and wise choices in the foods choose to we eat and drink while making permanent life style and responsible dietary changes which will make our blood gain strength and stronger against Cancer due to the improvements we make in our lifestyle and nutritional intake. The dramatic improvements have been shown and recorded that healthier eating decreases the levels of cancer promoting growth hormones in our body called IGF-1.
IGF-1 is a natural growth hormone which plays a vital role in our growth development during our childhood years, however in our adulthood years this Insulin Growth Factor can proliferate abnormal growth and this proliferation can metastasize and we end up with Cancer invading our bodies. Studies have also shown that the intake of ANIMAL PROTEIN increases the levels of IGF-1 in our bodies, so really something to ponder and meditate upon.
However, the switch to a PLANT BASED diet the levels of IGF-1 levels in our bloodstream will drop which again as slows the growth of Cancer cells.
Not only does the Not in-taking of animal protein decreases these levels dramatically but also these new studies that have been performed and proven supported that the many thousands of those who chose to lead a Vegan lifestyle had lower rates of obesity, diabetes and hypertension and significantly lower cancer risk as well.
A noble prize winner Dr. Elizabeth Blackburn along with Dr. Dean Omish found that a Vegan Diet caused more than 500 genes to change in only three months. Leading a Vegan diet will turn on genes that prevent diseases and turn off the genes that cause the volatile and aggressive disease such as Breast


Cancer and also heart disease, prostate cancer and many other illnesses that many have to battle. These studies empower us with so much valuable life changing information and strength because no longer are we victims of these illnesses. The illnesses become the victims of empowering knowledge that we will in-turn enforce to the fullest and aggressively as we make a complete dietary and lifestyle changes towards health, wellness leading to prosperous longevity.
Happiness and success in all we do as we stave off some of the diseases that cause so much suffering leading to an unhappy life costly medical bills and finally and early and unnecessary demise. Helpless, we are not we have the power in our hands, in our minds and will to make the necessary and must needed changes. Starts with the grocery list which eventually leads to the ends of the spoon or forks to end inside of us....So we are and always have been when it comes to our health in the Drivers seat of our life.
